The holidays are fun and exciting. Everyone is usually in a good mood and you can feel the Christmas spirit everywhere. But as fun as Holidays can be they can be a little bit stressful too. The workloads tend to be more intense since the year is closing. You have to be ready for Christmas and New Years and all the responsibilities that it includes. However, before all the chaos it’s really important for you to take some time to relax and enjoy yourself, and that’s why we’re sharing 4 things to do if and when you need to relax.
Yes, it sounds cliche like it is not going to change anything. However, breathing slowly, feeling every breath, when you inhale and exhale, calms your heart and your nerves. Taking deep breaths makes you think twice about the situation you are handling.
- Take a break from your phone
We’re always aware of our phones. Some of you probably get notifications for everything and we have a serious #FOMO. That’s why sometimes (even if it’s only once a month) you have to learn how to not be aware of it and PUT IT DOWN. You will feel so much better! If staying away from your phone is hard, try turning off the notifications from Whatsapp or iMessage for a while.

- Take some “Me” time
Don’t feel guilty for being selfish. You need to feel good with yourself in order to do your best every day. Watch your favorite TV show (The Bold Type, Riverdale and Jane The Virgin, Greys Anatomy, Sex and The City, you name it). Pamper yourself with a mani/pedi or just take yourself on a coffee date. Doing little things for yourself gives you more energy and boosts your mood and self-esteem.
- Talk with your loved ones
This is one of our absolute favorites! We really appreciate the time we spend with our families and friends. We tend to take them for granted because we see them literally every day. For us, there’s nothing better than a Saturday or Sunday brunch with them. Being surrounded by people that love you no matter what soothes your soul. The literally energize you and give you the inner peace you need when you feel like you are going to collapse.
Try any of these and let us know how you feel afterward.
